At Sunday Mass (or Saturday evening) we hear God's message to us in the Liturgy of the Word.
The readings come from the Old Testament and New Testament of the Bible. Currently in the Church's year it is Ordinary Time.
What is Ordinary Time?
This is the time of year when Catholics are not celebrating the great feasts of Easter, Christmas or Pentecost. Also, it is not a time of reflection or preparation such as Advent or Christmas. Ordinary Time is when we continue our daily journey with Christ. Green is used in altar cloths and the priest's altar clothes(chasuble) as a sign of life continuing to grow in our everyday or ordinary lives.
