We are a happy, inclusive, Catholic Primary School in St Helens with 210 children and 30 staff. We value the role of parents, carers and the parish community in the education of our children, doing all that they can to develop a love of learning and to share their skills and talents generously.
We celebrate the place of all faiths, values and beliefs whilst promoting a strong Roman Catholic ethos and tradition. We work together to create a school family where everyone feels safe, happy and secure. We support and encourage individuals to reach their full potential, to seek the highest levels of attainment and to celebrate every achievement. We deliver an innovative and creative curriculum, building self-belief and confidence. We broaden horizons, develop life skills and unlock opportunities for all.
Our children range in age from four to eleven. They are able to play, explore, create, learn actively and think critically in a safe and friendly environment. We have large playing fields, two playgrounds and a range of bright, airy, well-organised classrooms and teaching spaces. We use interventions to support children who find some concepts challenging and provide extension activities for children who are more able. We invest in the professional development of staff, working with the archdiocese of Liverpool, St Helens Local Authority and our local school cluster, to ensure staff are supported and are continually updating their knowledge and skills.
We teach the National Curriculum, enhancing it with additional sports, personal and social education, international study, arts and culture and our “Come and See” RE programme. We have an active Friends association that raises money for school funds and provides social events for families. We are proud of our history, of our church and our town. We work together enthusiastically to realise the hopes and dreams of all the children in our care.
Parents, current and prospective, are very welcome to visit us at any time or attend one of our open days or evenings. Our school motto “Following in the footsteps of St Peter and St Paul, we love, learn and grow together” permeates all we do.
