We are a happy, inclusive, Catholic Primary School in St Helens with 210 children and 30 staff. We value the role of parents, carers and the parish community in the education of our children and encourage and support them to do all that they can to develop a love of learning and share their skills and talents.
We celebrate the place of all faiths, values and beliefs whilst promoting a strong Roman Catholic ethos and tradition. We work together to create a school family where everyone feels safe, happy and secure. We support and encourage individuals to reach their full potential, to seek the highest levels of attainment and to celebrate every achievement. We deliver an innovative and creative curriculum, building self-belief and confidence. We broaden horizons, develop life skills and unlock opportunities for all.
Our children range in age from four to eleven. They are able to play, explore, create, learn actively and think critically in a safe and friendly environment. We have large playing fields, two playgrounds and a range of bright, airy, well-organised classrooms and teaching spaces. We use interventions to support children who find some concepts challenging and provide extension activities for children who enjoy being challenged further. We invest in the professional development of staff, working with the archdiocese of Liverpool, St Helens Local Authority and our local school cluster, to ensure staff are supported and are continually updating their knowledge and skills.
We teach the National Curriculum, enhancing it with additional sports, personal, social and health education, international study, arts and culture and our “Come and See” RE programme. We provide extensive on line home learning for when children are unable to attend school and use virtual learning and communication platforms to communicate with parents. We have an active Friends association that raises money for school funds and provides social activities for families. We are proud of our history, of our church and our town. We work together with positivity and enthusiasm to realise the hopes and dreams of all in our care.
Our school mission statement “Following in the footsteps of St Peter and St Paul, we love, learn and grow together” permeates all we do.
We are not currently able to offer school tours, but telephone appointments and virtual meetings are possible.
